Ejection fraction is well proven and has been around for quite some time, and is a great parameter. Now that strain gets more and more popular, the question arises which parameter to use - but is it really a question of "which", and not a question of "when"? Watch this video to learn the answer.

In this video, you can see 3 cases of patients with very low global longitudinal strain initially. During the course of treatment, we performed additional speckle tracking studies, and you can see how strain increases each time, illustrating the values of this technology in following patients.

This case is about a young patient receiving chemotherapy. At the beginning of the treatment, his strain starts to decline, but look at it a few years later!
